Emma Archer

Emma Archer is a Cohort 3 NextGen Nonproliferation Stewardship fellow and Darleane C. Hoffman Postdoctoral Fellow, working on the project “Advanced Reactor Fuel Signatures: Minor Actinide Doped Metal Oxide Characterization.” She earned her Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry from Colorado School of Mines under Dr. Jenifer Shafer, where her research focused on metal-ligand interactions of f-elements with mixed nitrogen and oxygen donor ligands, and her B.S. in Chemistry from Truman State University. As an undergraduate, Emma gained early exposure to nuclear chemistry through the Nuclear Chemistry Summer School at San Jose State University and research experiences at Kansas State University and Truman State. Working under the guidance of Dr. Jennifer Wacker at LBNL, Emma brings a strong foundation in f-element coordination chemistry to her fellowship research on advanced reactor fuel signatures.
