Londrea Garrett

Londrea completed her B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Rochester in 2020. As an undergraduate, she worked at Rochester’s Laboratory for Laser Energetics, testing liquid crystal coatings for the development of high-power laser polarizers. From here, she completed her Ph.D. in nuclear engineering at the University of Michigan in the Applied Nuclear Science Group under Igor Jovanovic. She was a recipient of the Nuclear Nonproliferation and International Safeguards and GEM Fellowships. Her research focused on how variations of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy methods could be used for the development of novel nuclear diagnostics, particularly for safeguards and advanced reactor applications. As a Darleane C. Hoffman Postdoctoral Fellow, she is working with Vassilia Zorba to use ultrafast lasers to continue advancing safeguards instrumentation.
